About me:
I was born in a small Colorado town called Durango. I loved art & math as a kid. I attended CU-Boulder for architecture. I have a passion for designing & fabricating custom environments & displays. I enjoy working with a team to create innovative solutions for clients and bringing a smile & spark to their eye.
I have lived in San Diego since 2015 and have a wife and a 5 year old daughter. In my freetime I play soccer & surf or hike with my family.
After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from Boulder in 2010, I moved back to my hometown of Durango, Colorado where I worked in an architecture firm for two years. Then I moved out to San Diego to pursue my passion of furniture making. I did it on the side while I had jobs in property management, CNC operation, construction & woodworking.
When I found my most recent job at Exhibiteam, I fell in love with the position that I had carved out. They design, build, and manage trade show displays. I started as a cabinet maker there, but quickly moved into becoming the lead CAD Project Detailer. Essentially, I would take the outsourced design rendering and I would turn it into build plans for our in-house fabricators. I did everything that needs to be planned for (blueprints, material acquisition, graphics production, BOM, crate packing plans, install setups).
We were growing and taking on larger displays. We hired another detailer and took on designing in-house. I became the Design & Engineering Manager. We found exponential benefits when I could curate the designs to fit within our Build Standards, making them far more buildable & efficient.
Unfortunately, the owners tried to scale the business too quickly and had to lay off a third of us in April 2025 in order to survive. I was devastated because I loved the job so much. I am wanting to stay in this industry or at least find something adjacent.
I have a wide range of skills which contribute to my expertise as a Project Detailer, but I am versatile because I can produce design submittals or I can build them! Let me know what your needs are and I will tell you how I can help.
